| Just saw in the local news, a local Cleveland parking lot is sueing the movie people, claiming that some equipment is preventing them from gouging people for parking in their empty lot near downtown. | |

| Simon and Kirby painted the lines in that parking lot back in the Depression, but do their heirs see any profit from that today? I ask you! | |

| Lines? What kinda swanky parking lots you got down in your nearly abandoned warehouse district? This lot is all gravel. The area they are at is a pit, a complete whole. Near enough downtown to charge way too much a day, during the week, and close enough to the stadiums, and at one time mostly gentrified area we call "the flats" to charge way to freaking much to park on weekends an 10% more than way to freaking much, during special events. One of the local news stations here has been championing the fight against the push to get more Hollywood movies made here, they claim all the claims of revenue are bullshit, but I've never seen any of the editorials bother to include and facts or have any proof. My bet is the parking garage guy was just trying to get on TV. It wouldn't surprise me if the owner of the lot was connected to the local TV station in some way. Just getting their piece of the Hollywood pie. | |
