| Putting in a plug for my webcomic, HANNIBAL TESLA ADVENTURE MAGAZINE; a pulp-era adventure comic set in the futuristic world of 1935! In my current storyline, "Cat-Men from Mars", Gutsy Girl Reporter Ginger DuPree has discovered that Martian Cat-Men have landed on the Moon and have established a base from which they intend to conquer the Earth. She has escaped from the Martians, but is now lost on the surface of the Moon, when she unexpectedly comes across an ancient alien temple. Cat-Men from Mars Chapter 74 | |

| Holy Cats! That has all kinds of charm, Kurt, well done. There were several things I especially liked though. The 'retro-future' 1935 is well depicted visually and in the characterizations. You really hit all the buttons well too, humor, intrigue, a little danger, sense of awe and even social commentary, all nicely balanced. A couple times, I wondered whether you might have preferred doing a strip with a mature rating, but you skated the edge alright, thanks for sharing this with us. If you plan to possibly go to print with it, are the dimensions such that you could stack 2 or 3 strips on a page or would it be a 'sideways book' format? | |

| I'm glad you liked it.
The story is based on an RPG campaign I ran with my wife some years back. In the original game, there were several occasions which would have required a Mature rating. (My alternative title for this storyline is "I Was A Martian Love-Slave!") I decided to bowdlerize it for the webcomic, partially to keep it "family-friendly"; partly to keep it truer to the level of spiciness in a pulp-era magazine; and partially because my ratio of naugty bits to plot probably wouldn't satisfy readers who are looking for a mature-rated comic.
I chose the dimensions for the comic so that each one is half of a comic book page, so that when I eventually print them, (as I hope to), I can run two strips per page.
Prior to the "Cat-Men from Mars" storyline, I ran another story titled "Sky Terror of Weng Hu", in which Ginger meets Hannibal Tesla, Man of Science, and together they face a Sinister Oriental Mastermind. ("Sinister Orientals? That stuff went out with the Perils of Pauline!" her editor grouses; "I'm in Hong Kong! Do you expect me to meet sinister Lithuanians?" Ginger replies.) Unfortunately, that story got eaten by the website somehow and I need to re-post. Since it actually takes place after Ginger's Martian adventure, (I ran it first to introduce Hannibal right away), I haven't been in a big hurry to fixt that. | |

| I have a new chapter up of "Cat-Men from Mars". Ginger has made telepathic contact with the builders of the mysterious alien vault on the surface of the Moon, and she's demanding some answers. Oh, and scroll down on my main page for a new Ginger/Cat-Men pic I did. Meow! | |
