I occasionally watch it on Comedy Central. It's OK.

But IMDB says there have been 111 episodes so far. Isn't that enough? Do we need 50 more? Does anyone think the best seasons of "The Simpsons" have been the most recent seasons?

Does anyone think Futurama would be replaced by something as good as the best seasons of "The Simpsons? Futurama was never great, but its been consistently good, even the most recent seasons.

I guess my question would be what are they making space for? Some stand-up comedian with an overly contrived premise for a half hour show,* or a sketch show, or just making room for Tosh reruns.

*Most Comedy Central programs are garbage. But most have little or almost no budgets, sometimes just a green screen...

I dunno. The next "Futurama"?

I agree, a lot of what Comedy Central airs is formulaic crap. (I do like "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.") But "Futurama" has been airing since 1999. Might be a good time to give it a rest, see what new ideas people have.

I appreciated Tina Fey's decision this year on NBC to bring "30 Rock" to a conclusion before it entirely ran dry. I wish someone at "The Office" had been kind enough to do that a few years ago.

I agree "The Office" has gone on at least one season too many. Like Scrubs. But that's because this last season was crap. Storylines completely contradicting years of chsracter development, yadda yadda

Futurama is still producing good work, and unlike The Office, only a few seasons went beyond 13 episodes, so it's not a huge comitment.

Just to make room for new stuff? If Comedy Central had a better record maybe, or its schedule was full, hell most of its 8 - 11pm programming is reruns. They dont need the space, 13 episodes of Futurama isnt holding up the line of new shows.

Quit while you're ahead? Thats a fair argument I suppose, but by that argument The Daily Show should get cancelled. Apples to oranges there sorry. I think its money, there are enough epidodes now for a decent syndication deal, and don't think investing in new episodes will add much value to the series as a whole product package.

Who in the writers room did Ed Helms piss off, anyway?

I've only watched a few episodes this season, but after being gone a few months (presumably to make movies), Helms returned and had his character turned into a complete creep rather than a lovable goof.

And the bits with Jim and Pam, the cute couple, approaching an ugly divorce -- wait, this is a soap opera now?

Yeah its all too contrived.

Gee that cute couple that never had drama before, wouldt it be great if they worked things out in the end?

Yeah, what the hell. All that's missing is the occasional cut to the giggling writers watching from back stage. First they send him off on a self destructive trip for months and he doesn't get fired? Then he comes back and continues even more reckless self-destructive and creepy behaviors never shown in the character before.

And Jim & Pam the normal couple are now insane, Pam is now ready to divorce Jim for transitioning into a better job? Like she can't grasp the idea it's only a temporary situation?

I just got caught up on the season, cleaning out my DVR. It was like a road accident. Like reading a long book and then the last few chapters are crap. You don't want to read the crap, but you've invested so much time in the long story.
