new Electro pics from Spider-man II

The new photos of Jamie Fox as Electro show they are definitely not going by way of the Ditko original design. Even though no one's a bigger Ditko fan than me, well DitkoFan certainly is, that's not overly surprising.

I'm wondering if the new design owes something to a 2009 Black Lightning design by Cully Hamner?

Whoa, Ed, nice find on the Black Lightning look! I wonder if the DC lawyers will notice?

I like the Electro pics, but I wonder. A big part of the original Electro character
was how he was a greedy bastard who was great at his job, but would only
do it for money. So when he got his powers, it was natural for him to turn to
crime. Just from this, looks like he may be more of a sympathetic outsider,
driven to whatever he does by an uncaring society.

I know that's a lot to assume just from these pics. And I know that movies
often totally change around the characters from their comic book versions.

So, wait and see, I guess.

To be honest, someone on the Mark Millar board did the legwork on that for me, Peter. I really haven't followed the Black Lightning character since it stopped being written by his co-creator, none other than Tony Isabella.
