Epic? New Man of Steel Trailer

I once had an assignment in a college freshman writing class where we were given a situation: You are a convicted prisoner sent to prison for a crime you did not commit. You have escaped from prison and are holed up in a cabin. A little girl turns up at your door, badly injured and close to death. She will die unless she gets medical attention, but if you bring her to a hospital, you will be arrested and you will never get out. What do you do?

I disliked that assignment. I found it artificial and arbitrary and it's sole purpose was to force a dichotomy of no-win situations. Especially since it practiacally had the words "RIGHT ANSWER" painted on one of the choices.

So I came up with a third alternative. Just to be perverse. Not necessarily a satisfying one, but something other than the binary choice we were given.

And then I had the little girl turn out to be a midget FBI agent in a wig who pulls a gun on the character and arrests him anyway.

Um... was this story supposed to have something to do with Superman? My stories don't always have points.

Maybe the midget knows what it means.

He also doesn't believe in keeping radiation suits on his starship in case there's a critical problem with the reactor. Jus' saying...

That'd be Scotty's fault, for not outfitting Engineering properly. Kirk's no micro-manager. How many times have you seen the guy yelling into a communicator, something like, "I * don't care how * you get it done, Mr. Scott, *** I want * I need * those engines online now..."
