Attack of the Neb! (The other half of Ego Comics)

Hey guys... I'm Ben (better known as "-Neb!") Hunter said I needed to pop over here and say hello! So... "Ollo" everyone!

If you don't know me... which I'm guessing most of you don't... I'm the artist monkey / other half of Ego Comics (partners w/ Neil aka Planet Ego - who's the writer).

I suppose that I should drop some ART so you guys know I mean business, eh...

I have also been dabbling in illustration, and just got a T-Shirt design picked up by TeeFury which should go up for sale in the next couple of weeks.

I've been into digital inking for the better part of 3 years now... and am just recently started inking again w/ a pen/brush... and am holding onto the idea, that somehow that might make me a better inker... guess we'll see about that...

I suppose that's about it for know...

The Neb abides! Just came back from your blog and sales site, both are full of great thought
provoking and just plain cool stuff and I see Neil has been here as well. He should be working on
the Beaters as they are likely humanity's only hope. Glad you're both here and it seems safe
to say that Ego Comics is back!

I've been on a mission to get back as many of the New Funkee friends as possible!

Ed... It's good to see ya' man... it's been too long!!! What have you been up to sir!!!

Yes, Ego Comics is around... oh yeah, we're still here... We've been in the business of raisin' some kids... but Ego has never been far from our hearts and our minds... we pulled back, and pulled inward after ECP finished up... Had to concentrate on our stuff for a while. There have been lots of 'distractions', and roadside attractions along the way.

Things is shaking... and we're workin' on some stuff...

And to your last comment Hunter...

Breeze... Him I don't know how to get a hold of... but I've seen Mr. Putnam floating around the facebooks... I haven't seen any work from him... though, I do see him update occasionally. (God, do I hope he's still doing something!!)

New Funkee Workshop... that's what it was called... wasn't it... haha (How do I forget this stuff)

Well, nothing earth-shattering, Neb, that's for sure. I'm trying to get my comics onto the digital platforms like DriveThru Comics and Graphicly, so far just a handful of sales though. Like a lot of us, I'm hoping for a break when Comixology starts its new submission site aimed at small independent creators. That should start early next year, here's some info and a link to the story:

Comixology accounts for 70% of comics digital downloads, so getting them could be make or break.

Most recently, I've been partnering with writer Alex Ness who is sometimes to be found on this very board. He has written 50 poems pulling directly from the heart of the Viking Age and I'm doing illustrations for them. Poetry books are a tough sale in general and we're still looking for a publisher, but if the wind is right it should all work out. Ed! That's awesome man! I've heard good things about Comixology! I hope that works out for you!!! Keep me posted on what/when and I'll check it out!! I'm excited to see yer' stuff again.

I just started up again working on a the first of our short stories we're trying to get done by the end of the year. Here's a preview/WIP.



Almost done w/ the shading on this one... then I need to add dialogue/lettering (Gawd... I hate lettering... ugh)

Beautiful tone-work there, Neb. Dark and moody with interesting highlights, yet it's all still clear and easy to follow, nice!
