| Night time is the right time for me! It used to be....When I didn't have to worry about reporting to work so early, I'd stay up to 3am or 5am working on projects.
When I was in sculpture class this time of schedule benefit me even now as a married man and parent. The whole house was quiet and it was just me, my music and my supplies...
I'd like to eventually establish enough energy to just run on maybe 6 hours of sleep and produce more work again.

| Mornings. Hopped up on caffeine and the promise and potential of a new day.
Granted, then the crap and crud creeps in, generally before I can seize the reigns of creativity. Kids, responsibilities, and that pesky full-time job are always screaming for attention.
The only time I can usually work, and try to produce is late at night, when the kids are down, and the house is quiet, but then I'm struggling to just stay awake!
*sigh*
The never-ending battle rages on.... | |

| I love the nighttime. I love to boogie. Ahem. Definitely late at night. Sometimes I look up and it is 4am. I've always been more comfortable letting inspiration take hold then. It has a lot to do with everyone else being asleep and giving me the chance to just create without distraction. This is more true for writing than art. I can sketch anytime and then refine it all late at night. But to write I need to be alone. | |

| At my most productive between 10 PM and 7 AM, most creative (writing and layout) 3-7 AM. Can do a comic page and a half a day on that schedule, or the equivalent amount of illustration. Any time I've done in-house freelance--like Day Shift animation jobs, it almost doubles the amount of time it takes. Never been a morning/day person since I can remember--like I'm on the Circadian Rhythm for Eastern Europe or somethin'... | |

| I tend to find it never has to do with the time of day but more with what I'm doing at any given time. Usually as long as I'm doing something relatively mindless (operating heavy machinery, driving a car) my imagination will wander. Some of the best ideas I've ever had occurred during work or while doing something laborious. If I sit down and try to come up with ideas it works to a certain extent, but never as well as when I'm busy with another activity. | |
