Dr. Who question? Empty
PostSubject: Dr. Who question?   Dr. Who question? Icon_minitimeFri Oct 12, 2012 1:39 pm

I've been getting caught up on the current season today (drawing dragon cartoons & watching Dr. Who).

I'm watching the epidode with the black cubes. And it's mentioned by Rory's boss that he's away fir months ata time. Unexplained absences. But minutes earlier Amy has a hard time guessing the length of time they have been married because pf their adventures time travelling.

I took that to mean they go away on time trips and come back moments later no matter how long they had actually been gone, in fact I had assumed that's how it had been possible to go and come back and keep their jobs and house etc., and why Amy couldn't guess how long they had been married in total. The way they had started portraying the situatio this season at least in my mind was that they were never truly gone for very long, no matter how long they were gone or otherwise there would be too many problems and questions from friends etc

Whether the next episode answers those questions or just compounds them is hard to say. It's probably better to wait until you finish this season, I think it's just one more episode left after the black cubes. Without needing spoilers because it's not the theme or a major part of the season finale or anything, we've probably all wondered how long companions and the Ponds in particular travel with the Doctor in their relative time? Sometimes it's obvious, sometimes not, and possibly there are many adventures besides the ones in the shows or even books! The characters are always referencing 'past' adventures, one which, like I say, weren't on the show. I think the series creators are pretty meticulous in monitoring timelines with everything including gaps indicated, but I'm not sure it's possible to the same extent for viewers. Even they throw up their hands occasionally and say it's just one of those 'timey-wimey' things.
