French Artist Yannick Drillet seems to have passed.

He is someone I've dealt with and he had a massive talent.
Not sure if anyone in the US has really been exposed to his work.

I will miss him if it is true that he is gone.

Alex, have you heard whether this is the case or not? I googled Yannick's name and although hampered by most text about him being in french, it's clear that your description is 100% accurate. Really a fine illustrator and artist, and from the photos of him still a very young man. So, I hope these dire rumors prove not to be true.

That's a shame. Especially for his family and friends of course, but looking at the examples of his work on the internet, I couldn't help but think, man, what an ideal collaborator for you in the genres you most often work in. You mentioned that you had dealings with him, did they include actual illustration work for you?

He was someone who was introduced to me after the book Lancelot, when my friends on the other side of the ocean in France gathered to create half the book. It was with regret that I hadn't a chance to work with him. He was a nice fellow.
