| Anyone know any good cold remedies, I've had one for about a week and a half, and just can't shake it. Getting sick of chicken soup. I thought you were supposed to starve a cold anyway. | |

| Different things work for different people but I can tell you one sure fire way to clear your nose, if you've got the stomach for it.
Get a glass of warm salt water (the warmth stops the salt from sinking to the bottom too fast) with about a tea spoons worth of salt. Poor a little into your hand, then sniff it up. Do this about three times so your nose has salt water in, then cover one nostril and blow hard. Alternate nostrils and the amount of water as you see fit. Hopefully you don't have a mustache, because by the time the glass of water is done your nose will be empty. Also make sure you have a lot of tissues handy, and do it over the bathroom sink.
I hate having a cold. Get well soon!

| Week and a half is a little long for your average cold, are you sure there's no dust and pollen allergy involved? Sometimes those get worse/begin in your 20's and 30's. Mine began then and over-the-counter antihistamines have become a way of life. But, if you're not getting 'colds' more than 2 or 3 times a year, it's probably not really allergies.
Maybe one of those vitamin drinks, the ones loaded with B vitamins and antioxidants, not sugar and caffeine would help? The Southern strategy is to cook up a mess of collard greens, but those may be difficult to find. If you do find them, while they're cooking, breathe the steam, that'll help at least a little. Hang in there!

| Eek.
That sounds disgusting, and like way more work than just laying here.
I'm sure it's not helping that I keep working everyday.

| If you can take the time off work, I like to look at a cold as an opportunity to do all the stuff I never seem to have time for elsewise. Read a crappy book series, grab a long box that needs sorting and read the whole thing, or watch a whole tv show I never seem to get to because my wife hates it. | |

| I've been sorta doing that. Work til i get tired then, watch movies i know my wife won't watch. The Raven, Ghost Protocol, Sahara, The Courier, The Losers, The A-Team stuff like that, I loved The A-Team any chance of a sequel?
The Raven was disapointing, pretty bad even for a sick day.

| Ha, whenever we go to see my inlaws, one or more of them, usually the kids are sick, another just had it and one is just getting it, often an adult. With no warning before we come over, ever! But later after my wife and i take turns with it and one of us is just getting clear of ot, they tell us not to come over. "You dont want to get every one sick do you!" Even though they were the ones getting everyone sick in the first place...wtf? | |

| My girlfriend's family are pretty good about this. It's like a huge taboo in their clan for someone to visit if they're sick. On the rare occasion someone does bring a sick child over, everyone bitches them out. | |
