| Friends and family are starting to arrive in town for the holiday. While we were waiting for the grown-ups to all wake up, we did some drawing so I had a lot of help with a bunch of warm up sketches we did. Here's one... | |

Ahhh ok, and nice sketch btw. I need to get back on the horse! Does anyone else suffer from art endurance? Like I'll go full balls to the walls on a project but afterwards fatigue or anti-focus sets in to where each line I try to force myself to draw is like blah. I end up walking away for awhile...and then it turns into something left on the table to finish on top of other stuff. I'm crawling now just to finish some backgrounds. Not to mention start several other pieces. I need to find a way to work around that. Oddly enough though? I never have that problem when it comes to a paid piece. If I know there's a reward on the other side or a client is expecting me to finish and they paid for it in most cases I delver it early even. Ed Q being the exception because he said no rush.

My biggest problem this last week and a half has been trying to shake a cold. But yeah like I've been saying i need to keep a regular routine. Or i can get caught up in other things.

| I'm getting a somewhat decent response from this image, even though it was quickly done and I expected it to look like shit. There's apparent issues structure wise.
thinking of doing a couple more with some other popular characters.

| No!
Haha.
I'm in hard times right now for sure.
But I meant I suck at forum formatting and posting images that aren't straight links or from photobucket.
That was all.

| It's my first day back to work and I'm trying to get back on a regular schedule. Starting with a daily warm-up sketch. I'm trying to take theme cues from other blogs or websites. Even our blog... Still a little rough and out of practice. Tried doing some foreshortening. But it doesn't have to be good every-time, just have to do it everyday. It's about process. I've been using Ray Bradbury's book "Zen and the Art of writing" as a guide. He teaches that you can't just sit around and wait to be creative, you have to get into a schedule, a regular routine, so it becomes second nature and when inspiration hits, you are already there waiting for it, ready to go. Like training for a marathon, you don't just get up the day of the race an expect to be able to do the best you can do, you train for it. | |

| Do you want this thread just to yourself? Or Do we all post in it if we are doing a daily/weekly sketch? I'll post mine, which was today and ask Guy to post his that he did yesterday. We are splitting up the week. Baby Steps. If for some reason I've overstepped my bounds here and you'd rather have this thread isolated to your progress please feel free to move our posts to the other thread in this sub-forum. No worries. http://imonsterfyu.deviantart.com/#/d5rmj2x | |

And if you want a critique feel free and request one. But keep in mind these are supposedly rough/ warm-up sketches, I'm not sure how productive criticism will be in most cases. But, if you have a more finished piece in need of more involved critique, why not give the piece it's own thread? That'll give you more breathing room for a fuller discussion, and you can go into greater depth of what you may be looking for in regards to the critique of the piece as well. Does that sound ok?
