Subject: Dick Ayers Passes Away After His 90th Birthday Wed May 21, 2014 1:39 pm
I just ran across this sad news today. Sorry for the delay. One of my favorite artists, I read somewhere that he never missed a deadline. A sentiment that is often used to defend guys like Vince Colletta. The big difference being, Ayer's "rushed" work never seemed to suffer as much as Colletta's.
From what I've been reading this morning he was here for the original Ghost Rider as well as the Gary Friederich version, and helped create Groot. It's nice that he was able to see some of his creations get to be up on the big screen.
